Federal Government commits additional $20m to boating infrastructure.

LNP commits further $20m to boating

The federal government has committed an additional $20m towards better boating and camping facilities should they be re-elected. This announcement comes on the back of the Boating Industry Association Ltd. and other marine related not-for-profits highlighting the significant value that boating and fishing brings to the economy and the lifestyle of the Australian population.

With 1 in 5 Australians being active recreational boaters and fishers, and the popularity of boating growing at an unprecedented rate during the pandemic, it was important that the government continues to provide new, and upgrade existing infrastructure to support what is undoubtedly one of our favorite pastimes.

The Queensland Recreational Boating Council works closely with the Queensland State Government departments that manage boating infrastructure and works to ensure that the Queenslander’s get the best possible outcomes from any decisions that are made regarding the upgrading and constructing of maritime facilities.  We welcome the commitment from the Federal Government and appreciate that they recognise the important role that boating not only plays economically but also in the well-being and lifestyle of the population.
