The Boating Industry Association Ltd. announced this week that a new President and Chairman has been appointed.
Andrew Fielding has been unanimously elected to the role following Darren Vaux’s 3 year term coming to an end. President Fielding paid tribute to the way that Mr Vaux’s guided the association through the Covid pandemic which saw the 2020 and 2021 Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide Boat Shows cancelled.
Andrew Fielding (known well to the QRBC) has been working in the marine industry for over 30 years and has experience in marine retail and wholesale, yacht brokerage, marine insurance and boat building. Andrew’s family have been small business owners in the boating business at the Gold Coast since the late 1960’s, giving him a life-long understanding of highs and lows associated with industry and business in general. Andrew generously volunteers his time and knowledge to multiple associations and currently sits on the board of the Gold Coast Waterways Authority. He is also on the Queensland state government’s War on Wrecks Taskforce and represents the QRBC on the Marine Rescue Implementation Working Group.
Passionate about boating safety, boating building standards compliance, and the future success of the boating industry, Andrew is looking forward to working with the BIA members, stakeholders, and all levels of governments during his 3 year term.
